Taverna Eirini Platy is a traditional Cypriot and Greek tavern tucked into the residential Platy area of Aglantzia, Nicosia. Open every evening from 18:30 (from 17:00 on Sundays) until midnight, it specialises in generous meze served the classic way, a steady parade of grilled and home-cooked plates. Expect souvlakia, sieftalia, chicken souvlaki, grilled halloumi, mushrooms and sausages alongside home-style koupepia, kritharaki (orzo) with minced meat, pourgouri, escargot and slow-cooked pork with tomato.

Diners repeatedly single out the roasted eggplant and tender pancetta as standouts. The mood is warm and cosy, with friendly, welcoming staff and live Greek music adding to the atmosphere, making it a firm favourite for groups and relaxed nights out. There's a garden setting with a view that comes into its own in summer.
